SMCKC Awareness Chairperson Nominations

Nominations are now open for the SMCKC Awareness Chairperson. The Awareness Chairperson will head
- Publicity, PR and Marketing
- SMCKC events. This person will be in charge of monthly breakfasts, happy hours, lunches, quarterly events, etc.
- Manage and be responsible for the Awareness Committee

Solid project management and PR/Marketing skills are keys to this roll.

I would like to nominate Whitney Mathews to this position. Whitney has been a consistent presence at our SMCKC breakfasts and understands social media marketing and PR on a gut level. Just check out her blog and online presence if you're not sure. Whitney is currently in a position with an online news outlet that thrives in the virtual AND physical realms. I believe Whitney Mathews has glorious talent that will only help propel SMCKC into the spotlight. Please consider it, Whitney!

[Lisa Qualls]

Whitney is absolutely qualified for this position, would be great in this role and basically rocks at all she does. However, I'm going to take Zena's lead in acting in the spirit of competition and also nominate Kerstin Deppe. Kerstin is a social media strategist by day and has great experience working with various online communities to generate awareness to new customers and engage more directly with existing ones. She also has professional project management experience leading teams of customers, channel partners and executives.

Thanks for the nomination, Jenn. Sorry I'm just getting to comment - I've been on vacation - but I will gladly accept the nomination! I'd be honored to serve as Awareness Chairperson. I would love to help SMCKC get the national recognition it deserves.

I nominate Mark Van Baale as Awareness Chairperson. The person responsible for this position has to have strong management skills and I believe the project management leadership Mark demonstrated in pulling together the recent 2009 KC Twestival speaks for itself. The 2009 KC Twestival received a great mention in a recent USA Today article and the overall success of the event was due to Mark's leadership and coordination skills.
