I nominate Ryan Flannagan for President
Thanks, T-Rave, for the nomination for President. I am very interested in helping the #SMCKC group organize, expand, and put Kansas City on the Map.

For those of you who are not familiar with me, I have over 4 years of experience as President of Myriad Tech LLC, have been active in SMCKC, and am an active social media user. Additionally, I helped organize SMCKC’s first quarterly event and moderated the panel in January of 2009 at Nicholson Kovac, as well as organized the SMCKC Linkedin group ( http://bit.ly/17EYKG ).

As President I would be interested in furthering SMCKC’s tenets of Awareness, Education, Advocacy, Industry Leadership/Adoption of Standards, and Technology. I believe that the Kansas City Chapter of The Social Media Club has a very strong opportunity to be nationally recognized. In particular, I am excited about the opportunity to further knowledge retention from previous events, expand our use of social media to Facebook and other networking platforms, organize strong quarterly and monthly events, add technological features to our website such as an SMCKC blog where members of SMCKC can contribute, and enable our volunteers with professional recognition for their involvement. If you have any questions about my vision for SMCKC or would like to voice your own vision, please feel free to ping me via Twitter @ryanflannagan.

Thanks,

Ryan Flannagan
I want to Nominate Lisa Qualls for President. Thank you, Lisa for galvanizing us all into action. You did a great job of running the conceptual meeting and helping us craft the structure for what SMCKC would look like. I love your willingness to listen and blend ideas into a coherent strategy. Thanks for your dedication.
I nominate Zena Weist. She is always prepared and has tons of experience. It's only fitting.
I second Jenn Bailey's nomination of Lisa Qualls. Lisa is a great representation of Kansas City's Social Media community and would do an excellent job of taking this group forward.
I nominate Ed Roberts. He has been a driving force behind SMCKC and we need that type of dedication going forward.
Thank you Jenn and Kerstin for the nominations...I am honored! Ryan, Zena and Ed are fantastic people so to be on the list with them is quite an accomplishment in itself. I am proud to be part of SMCKC and look forward to any opportunity to help serve and grow the group, create tremendous value for the members, and elevate KC as a city that is making a difference. If that opportunity is as President, VP or simply serving on a committee you can consider me dedicated to doing what I can to help SMCKC take these next important steps.
Justin, per our the process that was started I believe and could very much need correcting that Ed is already dedicated to a role that is reserved for the past years president. He will be helping the board and would help as an experienced set of hands and mind to keep the board from any pitfalls possible. I agree with your statements about Ed but he is already reserved for a non-voting role on the board if I understood the talk correctly on Friday morning. I will be posting video of friday morning here in a bit and will make sure to share so that everyone can hear Ed's talk on how the board will work.

Lisa Qualls is the way to go here, folks. She's got more commitment and advocacy in her little finger than most any of us. And she is one hell of a presenter. She's a leader and she knows it. Allow her, please, to lead our community to greater accomplishments. I wholeheartedly endorse Lisa Qualls, that brilliant stick of social media dynamite, as our next president.

Just as a point of clarification. Due to a myriad of personal, family, and business stresses and needs, I'm taking a step back from running the group and am not accepting nominations for a seat on the board. This is part of the reason why I'm going to take on an advisory roll though the chairman position this year. I'll likely help out with many of the facets of the organization throughout the year though.

There are a many talented and intelligent people in SMCKC. Whether it's in a board position, serving in a roll under a committee, or simply sharing with the group as a whole, all those involved are going to push this group to the next level. One I'm EXTREMELY excited about!

I nominate Lisa Qualls as President of SMCKC. The person taking this role will have significant responsibilities in representing our organization to the local and national media community. The client work that she and Simon Kuo do in their firm has perfectly prepared her to fulfill this critical responsibility. For SMCKC to reach the next level, our President has to have the executive wherewithal to bring national awareness/recognition to KC as a thought leader city in technology and social media / digital marketing strategy. In my mind, Lisa Qualls is best qualified to fulfill that objective.
