So here I am... a 30 something stay-at-home mom (of two children ages 10 and 4), very active on twitter and also active on facebook. My main interests are in advocacy or promotion of suicide prevention and mental health issues...but not limited by any means. Health, Art, Music, Environment, Animals, Human Rights...I am beginning to discover I am an activist at heart with a passion for speaking out and raising awareness about things that people don't like to talk about!

I do hope that this passion of mine will one day soon turn into some kind of paying work that I can thrive in, but for the mean time I am enjoying volunteer work, speaking out in social media outlets and blogging.

Currently I am blogging on my two blogs: Una Vita Bella and Polka Dots are Pretty. Una Vita Bella is the blog I have had the longest, therefore has more content and is where you can really see the changes I have been going through in my writing and in my life. Polka Dots are Pretty is a new little project of mine, where I can share pretty things... be it a product, a moment in my life, or travel destination...I wanted to create something that focused on "pretty".

I am part of the organizational team putting together the (Kansas City) Out of the Darkness Community Walk for Suicide Prevention for AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention). This walk will take place on October 17th at Berkley Riverfront Park in KC, MO, if interested please check out details at http://outofthedarkness.org!
